Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce low-sodium
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil toasted
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp ginger fresh, finely grated
  • 1 cloves garlic minced
  • 1.5 lb salmon fillet skin-on, cut into 4 portions
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 scallions thinly sliced

Equipment

  • 1 rimmed baking sheet

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 400°F and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk the soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic in a small bowl.
  3. Arrange the salmon skin side down on the prepared baking sheet and brush the sauce over the tops and sides.
  4. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the thickest part of the salmon reaches 145°F.
  5. Sprinkle with the sesame seeds and scallions before serving.

Notes

For tender salmon, check the thickest portion for doneness rather than relying only on time. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days; freezing is suitable. Use gluten-free tamari in place of soy sauce for a gluten-free option.
