Snowman Oreo Balls

Snowman Oreo balls are made by shaping Oreo and cream cheese truffles into two-part snowmen, then coating them in melted white candy. Mini chocolate chip eyes and buttons plus orange icing noses finish each no-bake treat.

Ingredients

For the snowmen
  • 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies
  • 1 block (8 oz) cream cheese softened
For the coating and decorations
  • 1 package (16 oz) white candy melts
  • 0.33 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1 tube (0.67 oz) orange decorating icing

Equipment

  • 1 food processor
  • 1 rimmed baking sheet
  • 1 deep microwave-safe bowl

Method

Make the truffle mixture
  1. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
  2. Process the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs in a food processor.
  3. Add the cream cheese and process until the mixture is evenly combined.
  4. Divide the mixture into 18 equal portions.
  5. Shape about two-thirds of each portion into a 1 1/4-inch ball and the rest into a 1-inch ball.
  6. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Coat and decorate
  1. Melt the white candy melts in a deep microwave-safe bowl at 50% power in 30-second bursts, stirring after each, for about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes or until smooth.
  2. Use a dab of melted candy to attach a small ball to each large ball.
  3. Refrigerate the assembled snowmen for 10 minutes to set.
  4. Dip each snowman in the melted candy, spooning coating over any uncovered areas.
  5. Lift each snowman out, let excess coating drip off, and return it to the parchment.
  6. Press mini chocolate chips in place for eyes and buttons while the coating is wet.
  7. Once the coating is set, pipe a small orange nose on each snowman with the decorating icing.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving and store covered in the refrigerator.

Notes

For clean shapes, make sure the truffle balls are thoroughly chilled before dipping. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days; freeze for up to 2 months. For a dairy-free variation, use dairy-free cream cheese and dairy-free white candy melts.
