Notes

Pro tip: use a light-colored pan so you can accurately judge when the butter turns golden brown and smells nutty. Store baked cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to 5 days. Freeze baked cookies for up to 2 months; thaw at room temperature. For a gluten-free swap, use a 1:1 gluten-free all-purpose flour blend and keep the chill time the same for best chew.
