Prep the skillet and batter
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch oven-safe skillet.
  2. Whisk together the melted butter and sugar until combined, then whisk in the eggs and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Fold in the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined.
Bake with caramel swirls
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared skillet and smooth the top.
  2. Drizzle 1/4 cup of the salted caramel sauce over the batter and swirl gently with a knife.
  3. Bake for 25–28 minutes at 350°F, until the edges are set but the center is still slightly fudgy.
Finish and serve
  1. Drizzle with the remaining salted caramel sauce before serving warm.
  2. Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top right before serving.
