Nutter Butter Acorn Cookies

Nutter Butter acorn cookies turn peanut-shaped sandwich cookies into a no-bake treat with milk chocolate kisses and mini chocolate chip stems. Melted chocolate holds the pieces together, then a short chill firms them up.

Ingredients

  • 24 Nutter Butter Bites
  • 0.25 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 24 milk chocolate candy kisses unwrapped
  • 24 mini semisweet chocolate chips

Equipment

  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 microwave

Method

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the Nutter Butter Bites on it in a single layer.
  2. Microwave the semisweet chocolate chips in a small microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring each time, until smooth.
  3. Dab melted chocolate onto one end of each cookie and press a milk chocolate candy kiss onto it, point facing outward.
  4. Dab melted chocolate onto the opposite end of each cookie and attach a mini semisweet chocolate chip, flat side down.
  5. Refrigerate the cookies for 10 minutes, until the chocolate is firm.

Notes

Press each candy onto the cookie while the melted chocolate is still tacky so it holds in place. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week; freezer: yes, for up to 2 months. For a gluten-free variation, use gluten-free peanut butter sandwich cookies in place of the Nutter Butter Bites.
